Business Processes and Information Systems

This course will help students learn about what a business process is and why it is essential for an organization and the need for improving it. This course also addresses the methods and techniques required to analyze, design, implement, automate and evaluate business process. Students will also learn about how to use Supply Chain Management Systems (SCM) and Customer Relationship Management Systems (CRM) in an organization.

Student Learning Outcomes

On successful completion of the course, students will be able to:

  • Describe and analyze Business Processes in organizations
  • Identify weaknesses in a given process design and suggest improvements that will benefit organizational performance
  • Redesign a given process using improvement patterns and outside best practices
  • Develop an implementation and integration strategy for processes that leverages organizational and technical capabilities of an organization
  • Identify appropriate supply chain management (SCM) for their organization to improve the efficiency
  • Identify and implement Customer Relationship Management Systems (CRM)
